Subject: excelleent aud

Very excellent audience recording, especially since the commercial release doesn't have any reverb on jerry's vocal. They're collective performance on this is superb, and the double length Terrapin solo is just incredible.

Thanks archive for another excellent AUD recording from an amazing show..starts well after tuning but the 2nd set smokes:top5 versions of estimated,other one,eyes,wharf rat,franklins ,sugar mag and werewolves of london..A special night for all concerned,the magic comes right thru in this excellent recording.

Subject: sweet show, sweet recording!

This was one of my favorite cassettes. The sound is superb, the mix is great and the audience reminds you at every step just what a fun show this was. Everyone shines here, but Jerry's singing in particular is lively! And his playing is just golden; he couldn't hit a bad note on this day if he'd tried. Really, every note is pitch perfect. The jams and transitions in this Estimated>Other One>Eyes are classic. Listen to it once and soon you'll know every tasty little phrase. And this Wharf Rat: both poignant and powerful. Jerry's just on and clearly enjoying himself. A sweet Franklin's--and Werewolves! Just a rock solid show, all in all, and one I don't hesitate to give to the uninitiated.

The crowd is a little loud during the quiet part (i.e. the bridge), and someone (Phil?) very wisely tells the crowd to cool it. Great moment during an epic Whart Rat.

Subject: First show!

Glad to hear this one! It was my first show, hitch-hiked up from Colorado Springs, alone, on the advice of a friend. Next show for me was St. Louis, '81 & '82. Fifty more shows until St. Louis '95. Thanks for the memories. K-9

Subject: Wish I could have been there

I got this on cassette tape many many years ago. The cassette version I had left a lot to be desired. I dont know if it was the person making it or what, but there were gaps and even a long dead space after Eyes.

But the show itself is awesome. I love the setlist. It has some of my all time favorites songs. - Deal, Roses, WR, S&D and the encore, man, Terapin and a Warren Zevon cover. Incredible. The band was just on that night and even though Jerry spaced out a little here and there, I think it adds to the performance. I had been looking for this show for a while but all I could remember was Red Rocks and the late 70s. I finally found it here and after listening to it again, I realize that some of the blemishes on my cassette where original! No matter. I was 3 when they played this show. I wish I could have seen it live, but this recording is the next best thing.
